Switch Path

Choose the fastest clean backup.

  • Confirm the checkout direction first: merchant QR code, cashier scanning your payment code, or Tap! or NFC.
  • If the merchant QR code fails, ask whether the cashier can scan your payment code instead.
  • If your payment code is rejected, ask whether you can scan the merchant QR code, use another QR path, or move to a staffed counter.
  • Use the other wallet, another linked card, or a physical card, then stop after one or two failures in the queue.
  • Use small RMB cash for urgent food, transport, or low-value purchases when the merchant can handle change.
  • Move to a staffed counter, hotel front desk, station service center, or official taxi queue when self-service payment breaks.

Escalate without exposing sensitive data.

  • Use a translation app or the follow-up phrases below after the first payment sentence.
  • Ask hotel, station, airport, mall, or attraction staff to point you to a staffed payment path or write down the right counter or pickup point.
  • If hotel deposit or desk payment fails, ask whether another card, another card network, wallet payment, split payment, or cash deposit is accepted.
  • If you need cash and an ATM fails, try a major bank branch, airport service point, or hotel-recommended ATM later instead of repeating street withdrawals.
  • Use wallet in-app support or the official hotline only after the urgent purchase is covered and the source still looks current.
